Blenmerrow Shetland Sheepdogs
Champion
Blenmerrow Melveen Making Waves JW
Robin was born in 1999 in a litter of 5 sables, three dogs and two bitches. Three of them did well in the showring.
He was a stunning puppy and we very soon realised that he would be staying with us at Blenmerrow.
As he grew up we were not in any way disappointed, in fact he just got better and better. His first show was at a Club Championship show, he was just 6 months old and won Best Puppy in Show. From then on there was no looking back and he continued his winning ways throughout his life, winning 7 CC's and 5 reserves over a period of 7 years, his first at two years old and his last aged nine from the veteran class. He won Best of Breed at Crufts in 2002 and reserve CC's at Crufts in 2006 and 2007. We do not show our dogs once they have their titles other than at Crufts and Club shows. Three of his CC's were won with Best in Show at The Eastern Counties SS Club show in 2001, The English Shetland Sheepdog Club Ch Show in 2006 and the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Wales Ch show in 2007 after which he was retired.
He was also the only Sheltie to ever win all three categories of the Sheltie of the Year Show when it was in existance.
Not only was he a lovely show dog, he was a delight at home. Such a gentle and affectionate dog who lived to be almost 15 and still looked every bit a champion. It was a very sad day when we had to say goodbye to him.
His legacy lives on, not only at Blenmerrow in the children who come down from him, but in other kennels at home and abroad.
